Video displays Nokia Device Hub for the Nokia Lumia 630

The Nokia Device Hub has been in Nokia Beta Labs. Now, the feature has been released and can be found under the Settings menu for the Nokia Lumia 630. The app is expected to be part of the Cyan package that will accompany the Windows Phone 8.1 update for Lumia phones. The Device Hub finds apps that can be used with nearby devices that feature Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity. 

There are two sections to the Nokia Device Hub. One shows a list of every device that you have connected to. The other shows a list of nearby devices that are using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It is those nearby devices that you are managing with this app. 

For example, if your computer is using a Wi-Fi connection, it will show up on the Device Hub under the "Nearby" setting. In "Overview," you can see a list of apps that will allow you to connect your phone with your computer. Under "Apps" you will find a list of app that are available to be downloaded on your PC from the Windows Phone Store. Any device that supports Bluetooth or Wi-Fi can be picked up on by the Nokia Device Hub. You can pin a device to your home screen to quickly see which apps will work with it.

Apple and Motorola agree to dismiss all patent lawsuits

Heck dropped a few degrees this evening. After years of battling it out in the courtroom, Apple and Motorola Mobility have officially settled their patent lawsuits and here’s the craziest part: they didn’t even have to strike a cross licensing patent deal of any kind.

The news comes to us by way of Reuters who reports that the two companies notified the federal appeals court in Washington, letting them know that they were both in agreement to dismiss their cases. In a joint statement, Apple and Motorola agreed to make amends saying:

Apple and Google have also agreed to work together in some areas of patent reform

Motorola and Apple were locked in a bitter patent battle that after being dismissed back in 2012, saw Apple getting another chance at a Motorola sales ban via a federal appeals court. Left to watch from the sidelines was Samsung who had no part in Apple and Motorola’s new found friendship. Guess there’s still hope.

Moto G LTE pre-orders available now

Moto G LTE pre-orders currently available, first deliveries expected in June

Released yesterday alongside the ultra-cheap Moto Age, the Moto G LTE addresses two shortcomings that the original Moto G has: the lack of LTE assist, and the lack of a microSD card slot.

Customers seeking to get the new Moto G LTE is now able to pre-order it both with Motorola’s US website, and at Amazon. For right now, only the 8GB version with the Moto G LTE is usually pre-ordered, and it charges $219. We’re assuming that the 16GB variant will be available soon, too.

Both Motorola and Amazon are mentioning that the Moto G LTE is going to be shipped starting June 3. Although Amazon says that will its Moto G LTE is sold with “universal LTE”, the handset’s specs reveal that the supported LTE bands are mainly North american ones: bands 2, some, 5, and 17.

Much like the original Moto G, the particular Moto G LTE runs near-stock Android 4. some KitKat, and features some sort of 4. 5-inch 720p display, 5MP rear camera, quad-core Snapdragon 500 processor, 1GB of RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY, and a 2, 070 mAh battery pack.
